Welcome to the 1st edition of the Anambra State U25 Rapid Chess Tournament 2026! Here is everything you need to know about the event:

Event Overview

  • Event Name: 1st Anambra State U25 Rapid Chess Tournament 2026
  • Dates: 15th – 16th May 2026
  • Time: Matches start at 9:00 AM Prompt
  • Venue: PUCO Cafe, Opp. Five Decking, Off Book Foundation, Ifite, Awka, Anambra State
  • Format: FIDE Rated
  • Time Control: (20 minutes + 10 seconds increment) | Rapid
  • Rounds: 11 Rounds Capacity: Strictly capped at 50 players

Open Category:

  • 1st Place: ₦250,000
  • 2nd Place: ₦150,000
  • 3rd Place: ₦100,000
  • 4th Place: ₦60,000
  • 5th Place: ₦40,000
  • 6th Place: ₦36,000
  • 7th Place: ₦32,000
  • 8th Place: ₦28,000
  • 9th Place: ₦24,000

Under-14 Category:

Eligibility Requirements: Age Restriction: ONLY players born in 2001 or later are eligible to register. FIDE Requirement: A FIDE ID is MANDATORY for all participants.

How to Register

Registration is strictly capped at 50 players. Register early to secure your spot.

Registration Fees:

  • First 30 Players: ₦6,000
  • After First 30 Players: ₦8,000
  • Late Registration (After 12th May): ₦10,000

  1. Pay the registration fee to:

  2. Complete the registration form online via this link.
  3. Send proof of payment via WhatsApp to 0810 921 6050 to confirm your registration.

FIDE ID Registration

Since this tournament is FIDE rated, all players are required to have a FIDE ID. If you do not already have one:

1. Who can participate?

This event is strictly for Under 25 year old players (born in 2001 or later).

2. How do I know my registration is confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation message via WhatsApp after submitting proof of payment and you will also be added to the group chat.

4. Is accommodation provided?

Accommodation is not included in the registration fee. However, we can recommend nearby affordable hotels, just send us a message on whatsapp. Also, if you are a junior / youth, you can pair with your friend on UNIZIK Campus.

5. Is there a deadline for registration :

Yes, The Registration deadline is the 12th of May 2026
